Growing up, David was exposed to a variety of creative tools for evangelism. His parents, Duane and Mary Laflin, were very instrumental in teaching David the basics of using illusions in ministry. They gave him his first tricks and included him in their own gospel illusion programs (along with his brother and two sisters). At the time, David enjoyed the opportunity to perform with his family, but he never imagined that this might one day be a full-time ministry God would call him into.
